Not all photographs are suitable to paint a portrait from.  Please note that your photographs should be in focus and most importantly, close-up.

Flash photos should be avoided if possible due to the unnatural effects of shadows.
Outdoor shots always look more natural and generally make better paintings. If you don't have any suitable photos, have a chat with me anyway, I may be able to take some for you if you are fairly local or at least give you some ideas on how to take your own.

Digital photos are very suitable for painting from. You can send me a disc with your pictures on or you can email them to me. Please make sure they are high resolution photos. The picture of "max" on the right was emailed to me and came out wonderfully.

Please, if you have an old dog and think you might like a painting done at some time, get some good close-up photos now. It's very sad to turn people away because their photos aren't good enough to do a painting from.

 

Finished portraits are supplied in hand-cut beveled mounts
and traditional polished hardwood frames.
Each frame is approximately 50cm x 40cm  (20" x 16")
Printed names, titles or dedications can be ordered
and are printed out and inserted into a special cut-out in the mount.

 

PRICES:
Portrait, each.  AU $175.00
Names, titles, dedications etc. NOW FREE.                                                         Traditional hardwood frame, including hand cut beveled mount. NOW FREE.

Photography, varies. Usually around AU $10.00
